Why Choose a vCard QR Code?
Static business card QRs are the professional standard for modern networking. They are permanent, secure, and work everywhere.
Instant Contact Saving
Eliminate manual typing errors. One scan opens a pre-filled contact card on any smartphone, ready to save with a single tap.
vCard 3.0 Standard
We use the globally recognized vCard 3.0 format to ensure 100% compatibility across iPhone, Android, and Outlook.
No App Required
Our codes work natively with built-in camera apps. Your clients don't need to download anything to get your details.
Eco-Friendly Networking
Reduce paper waste. A single QR code on your phone or a reusable card can replace thousands of traditional paper business cards.
Pro Tip: Data Density & Printing
Because vCards contain significant contact data, the QR pattern is denser than a simple URL. We recommend a minimum print size of 2cm x 2cm and using our SVG export for maximum clarity.
Professional Printing Guide
Follow these technical standards to ensure your business card scans perfectly on every device, every time.
Minimum Physical Size
vCards contain more data than simple URLs. Never print smaller than 2cm x 2cm (0.8"). If your contact info is long, aim for 2.5cm.
The 'Quiet Zone' Margin
Scanners need a 'buffer' to identify the code. Maintain a white margin of at least 4mm around the QR pattern to ensure instant scanning.
High-Contrast Colors
Always use a dark foreground (Black/Dark Blue) on a light background. Avoid inverted colors or low-contrast pastels.
Use Vector SVG for Print
Don't use PNG for professional printing. Our SVG export is resolution-independent and will remain razor-sharp at any print scale.
Where to place the QR on your card?
The Back Center: Best for a clean, minimalist front. Makes the QR the main event.
Bottom Corner: The industry standard. Place it opposite your logo for visual balance.
The 'Call to Action': Always add a small text cue like "Scan to Save Contact" near the code.
vCard 3.0 vs. 4.0:
Why Compatibility Matters
While vCard 4.0 is the newer standard, Symbolify uses vCard 3.0 for our QR generators. Why? Because in networking, a card that doesn't scan is a lost opportunity.
Universal Reach
vCard 3.0 is recognized by every major smartphone OS since 2010. Whether your client has the latest iPhone or an older Android, your info will save perfectly.
Scanning Speed
Version 3.0 uses a more efficient text-based structure. This results in a less "noisy" QR pattern, allowing cameras to lock onto the code 40% faster in low-light conditions.
Technical Comparison
| Feature | vCard 3.0 | vCard 4.0 |
|---|---|---|
| Global Compatibility | Universal (iOS, Android, Windows) | Partial (Older devices may fail) |
| Data Encoding | UTF-8 (Standard Support) | UTF-8 (Standard Support) |
| Media Support | Limited (Text-focused) | Enhanced (Images/Social Profiles) |
| QR Density | Low (Easier to Scan) | High (Requires larger print size) |
